WARSAW SIGHTS

Thousands of tourists from the different countries are hospitably met by Warsaw which sights allow to get acquainted closer with architecture of the Middle Ages, to see unique achievements of modern talented masters. Inquisitive travelers are waited by the most interesting museums, majestic palaces and temples, wonderful parks and surprising monuments.






Historical part

As well as the Portuguese Lisbon and its sights, the Polish capital attracts with an opportunity at the same time to feel spirit of ancient times and to admire miracles of engineering thought of today. It is worth beginning acquaintance to this wonderful city with its historical part where continually it is possible to see monuments of architecture, cultures. As favourite places not only for visitors, but also for residents of the Polish capital it is possible to consider:

The Palace Square by right is considered the most beautiful in the city. Its main ornament is the well-known Royal castle. During World War II the ancient construction was destroyed. The carried-out reconstruction gives the chance to tourists to visit the residence of the last Polish king, to admire magnificence and luxury of furniture of its rooms, to see cloths of the famous artists. On the square there is the first secular monument – Sigismund III's Column created in 1644.



The market square of Warsaw became the real center of bohemian life. Here artists, street musicians work. Tourists are waited by a set of small shops where it is possible to get many remarkable souvenirs. On the Market square the House under a lion who is considered the most beautiful building of the city was located. Therefore it most often decorates cards of Warsaw. A symbol of the Polish capital is the sculpture of the Little Mermaid placed into the square in 1855 according to instructions of the king Vladislav VI.

Royal path – heart of Warsaw

The most beautiful Warsaw streets unite to the Royal highway. Walk in these places will allow to get acquainted with the main sights of the city. Many of them treat great world heritage, are protected by UNESCO.

In the Palace Radzivillov took place the first concert of great Chopin. Now here the remarkable exposition of mayensky porcelain, a cloth of medieval painters is presented. In the Columned hall of the palace there pass all important governmental activities. Pride of a church St. The cross built in the 17th century Jesus Christ's statue cast from bronze is. Fascists during war took out it from Warsaw for melting, but did not take to Germany. Soldiers found a statue in a ditch and returned to a church.

The Royal path comes to an end with wonderful Lazenkovsky park in which each tourist will find much interesting. In the huge territory magnificent mansions, arbors, fountains, lakes, a greenhouse and the Greek amphitheater settled down. In Lazenkovsky park proud peacocks freely walk about, many rare plants grow. Here it is possible to visit the unique Palace on water built at the end of the 18th century.

Pride of residents of the Polish capital is the Palace Vilyanuv. Not in vain it is called "small Versailles". The palace was built by order of the king Jan III for the wife's Frenchwoman. In order that she not so missed the homeland a peculiar copy of the well-known palace was built.

SIGHTS OF MODERN WARSAW

The museum of the famous composer Chopin was placed in Ostrogsky' lock. In spite of the fact that the building is ancient, belongs to constructions of the 17th century, the museum can be referred to modern sights safely. It is enough to enter in the building to admire all achievements of progress. Using multimedia technologies, authors of the project give the chance to visitors of the museum to feel the atmosphere long ago of the passed centuries. Carry away the visual dynamic images on touch screens recreating landscapes and interiors of those times in the 19th century. Even air is filled with aromas of violets, favourite flowers of the composer.

Modern sight of the city is the surprising garden which is laid out on a roof of the Warsaw library. It is the largest art object of this kind in Europe. Except exotic plants there is a bookstore, several cozy cafes here.

Copernicus's center

At adults and children unforgettable impressions are left by visit of the Center of science of "Copernicus". On the area of 22 thousand sq.m the huge number of scientific devices, various exhibits settled down. Visitors can not only consider them, but also make experiments. There is a planetarium, the robot poet here, etc.


Among sights of Tallinn, other European capitals a specific place is held by national parks. There are they and in Warsaw. Pride of Poles is the Kampinossky park where it is possible to see many animals, birds living in a native habitat.
